Taking place in Hiroshima, Japan, this youth forum is designed to promote mutual understanding, strengthen ties, and create opportunities for Japanese and American students to work with one another and with their counterparts in the Asia-Pacific region. By meeting face-to-face from July 27 to August 5, 2017, and supported by online interaction before and after the event, students will collaboratively envision what they can and will do to shape a sustainable future in an interconnected world. Organized by the Hiroshima Prefectural Board of Education (HPBOE) as part of its OECD-supported Hiroshima Innovative School, the 2017 program builds on the 2016 Shaping Vision 2030 program developed by AsiaPacificEd in partnership with HPBOE. Teams of students and teachers from New Zealand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Hawai‘i, and US schools who took part in the 2016 program in Honolulu will participate in the 2017 program.
