The Teaching for Global Competence (TGC) program connects educators in Asia and the United States to foster collaboration and idea sharing on teaching for global competence.
Organized in partnership with the Hiroshima Prefectural Board of Education, a group of educators from Hiroshima, Japan, worked with AsiaPacificEd, visiting schools in Honolulu and on the US mainland to learn about educational innovations, with an emphasis on learner-centered, inquiry-based pedagogy that taps young people’s natural curiosity and creativity.
US schools hosting the visiting teachers have the opportunity to be hosted in return by schools in Hiroshima. Contact us if your school is interested in sharing best practices and being considered for the opportunity to be hosted by the Japanese school.
